Laser cutting creates accurate shapes, but burrs, oxide layers and sharp edges still need to be controlled before bending, welding, coating or assembly. Choosing the right metal deburring machine depends on part material, burr size, required edge radius and production volume.

1. Start With the Burr Type

Heavy burrs usually need an abrasive belt module first. Light burrs and sharp edges can often be handled by brush modules. If the factory needs both burr removal and edge rounding, a combined machine is normally the best option.

2. Match the Working Width

The working width should cover the largest common part, not only the largest possible part. For many sheet metal workshops, 800 mm and 1000 mm machines are practical choices. Wider machines can be customized for large panels.

3. Consider the Next Process

If parts go to powder coating, edge rounding improves coating adhesion. If parts go to visible assembly, surface scratch control becomes important. If parts go to robotic welding or CNC folding, consistent edges improve downstream stability.

Metal sanding dust should be collected with a properly sized system. Stainless steel, carbon steel and aluminum dust may require different safety considerations.
