Overview

The BGSK Series Fully Electric CNC Folding Machine represents the top tier of our folding line. It replaces hydraulic or pneumatic actuation with all-electric servo drives on every axis—beam elevation, blade positioning, back gauge, and crowning. The result is faster cycle times, ±0.05° bend accuracy, zero oil leaks, and energy consumption up to 60 % lower than conventional hydraulic folders.

Available in working widths from 2600 mm to 6000 mm, the BGSK series serves large-scale fabricators, OEM panel suppliers, and architectural metalwork contractors who need high-volume, high-precision forming. Every machine is CE-certified, built at our Qingdao plant, and shipped factory-direct with MOQ of one set.

How It Works

The servo motor drives a ball-screw mechanism to raise and lower the bending beam. Because there is no hydraulic oil, response is instantaneous and position holding is drift-free. The CNC controller coordinates beam angle, blade gap, back-gauge position, and crowning compensation in real time. When the operator loads a sheet and initiates the cycle, all axes move to their programmed positions simultaneously, reducing idle time between bends.

Energy is consumed only during motion. When the machine is idle, servos draw minimal standby power. There is no continuous hydraulic pump running, no oil heating, and no noisy cooling fan. For factories running two or three shifts, the electricity savings alone can justify the investment within two to three years.

Key Advantages

1. All-Electric Servo Precision

Servo motors with absolute encoders deliver repeatable positioning accuracy of ±0.05 mm on the back gauge and ±0.05° on the bend angle. This level of precision eliminates the trial bends and manual shim adjustments common with hydraulic machines, reducing setup scrap to near zero.

2. No Hydraulics, No Oil, No Leaks

Hydraulic folders require oil changes, filter replacements, seal kits, and drip trays. The BGSK has none of these. The workshop floor stays clean, environmental compliance is simpler, and lifetime maintenance cost is significantly lower. This is especially important in food-processing, electronics, and medical equipment factories where oil contamination is unacceptable.

3. Ultra-Low Energy Consumption

Independent tests on comparable 3-meter folders show the BGSK using 55–65 % less energy than a 7.5 kW hydraulic power-pack running continuously. In a two-shift operation at European energy prices, annual savings can exceed EUR 3,000 per machine. Over a ten-year life, the electricity savings approach the original purchase price.

4. Quiet Operation

Without a hydraulic pump, operating noise is limited to servo whine and sheet movement, typically below 70 dB(A). You can place the BGSK in assembly areas or clean-room corridors without acoustic enclosures, improving workshop layout flexibility.

5. Programmable Crowning Compensation

Long beams deflect under load, causing a “canoe” bend profile that is tight in the center and open at the ends. The BGSK’s CNC crowning system pre-loads the beam with calculated compensation based on material type, thickness, and bend length. The result is a straight bend across the full 2600–6000 mm width, eliminating post-bend correction or shimming.

6. Factory-Direct Engineering Support

Because you buy directly from the manufacturer, application engineering, process optimization, and spare parts all come from the team that designed the machine. There is no distributor margin, no communication delay, and no risk of obsolete support.

Typical Applications

  • Large architectural panels – Form long-span cladding, soffits, and ceiling panels up to 6 m with straight, consistent bends.
  • OEM appliance housings – High-volume production of refrigerator cabinets, oven bodies, and washer drums with repeatable flange geometry.
  • Electrical switchgear and busbar ducts – Produce long enclosures and trunking systems with multiple parallel bends and tight dimensional tolerances.
  • Transportation interiors – Form aluminum wall panels, ceiling modules, and luggage racks for trains, buses, and marine vessels.
  • Solar panel frames and racking – High-speed forming of aluminum extrusion-compatible mounting rails and support brackets.

Maintenance & Support

Because there is no hydraulic system, the maintenance schedule is minimal: monthly inspection of servo motor cables, quarterly lubrication of ball screws, and annual calibration of the back-gauge and angle sensors. The control software stores calibration curves and alerts you when drift exceeds tolerance.

All servo drives, motors, and CNC controllers are industrial-standard components from recognized brands, available through global distribution networks. We stock critical spares in Qingdao and can cross-ship from regional hubs. Remote diagnostics via Ethernet or Wi-Fi allow our engineers to update parameters, troubleshoot alarms, and optimize bending recipes without traveling to your plant.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a fully electric machine more expensive than hydraulic?

Up-front cost is 20–30 % higher than an equivalent hydraulic folder. However, when you factor in energy savings, eliminated oil and filter costs, reduced scrap, and higher throughput, the total cost of ownership crossover point is typically 18–24 months in two-shift operation.

What happens if power fails mid-bend?

Servo motors have built-in holding brakes that lock the beam position instantly on power loss. The sheet is held safely between the beam and the table until power is restored or the manual release is engaged. There is no hydraulic drift or sudden drop.

Can I retrofit my existing tooling?

Yes. The BGSK blade interface accepts standard ISO-compliant tooling from most major brands. If you already own a set of blades for a hydraulic folder, they will likely bolt directly onto the BGSK beam, protecting your tooling investment.
